TIMRITE RECRUITS: GENERAL LABOUR ATTENDANT (x4 POSTS)
TIMRITE, a well-established company in the manufacturing and timber processing sector, is pleased to announce the recruitment of four (4) General Labour Attendants to the Back End – Kemp Mill Operations Department in Piet Retief. This is a permanent position reporting to the Mill Supervisor. It is suited for individuals who are hands-on, safety-oriented, and are willing to assist in the efficient running of the mill operations.
Purpose of the Role
The General Labour Attendant is responsible for the seamless flow of materials around the mill, which is done from attending to movement of conveyor belts and chains, and ensuring a clean and safe working area. The role contributes to the safety, overall performance and most importantly, the operational efficiency of the mill.
The General Labour Attendants contribute immensely on the production floor. They are responsible for bringing about the desired level of productivity and with this, the desired level of safety for the rest of the employees. With this, TIMRITE is willing to pay attention to their recruiting in order to have individuals in the fast paced environment who are industrious and responsible and are able to create the desired level of alertness in the industry.
🛠️ Main Duties and Responsibilities \n\nSuccessful candidates will be assigned a number of practical and operational tasks, which may include but are not limited to:\n\nCorrectly Aligning logs to allocated spaces on conveyor systems to minimize jams and delays for the production team\n\nWatching and assuring that logs of wood chips move freely along conveyor belts and chains and troubleshoot issues that will cause interruptions to the flow\n\nDirecting logs to the appropriate processing areas, operationally ensuring correct allocation of log species systems\n\nRaking large quantities of wood chips and debris to ensure a clean working environment and the removal of dirt build up that creates tripping hazards\n\nStaying vigilant and consistently abiding by all company and OH&S to keep the workplace safe and maintain the company standards\n\nReporting all accidents, near miss incidents, and all injuries to the Mill Supervisor to ensure that corrective action is taken, and the injury is documented\n\nThese tasks demonstrate the need for endurance, attention to detail and the proactive attitude towards safety and partnership\n\n👷 Essential Criteria \n\nTIMRITE appreciate experience and potential, and while on the job training will be provided, the applicant must meet the following essential criteria:\n\nAt least one year of working experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Experience in manufacturing or sawmill will be considered as highly advantageous.
Ability to work alone with little to no oversight while still being a good team player.
An understanding of basic Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) principles and a commitment to abiding by safety procedures at all times.
Must be in good physical condition and able to stay focused and work on manual tasks for long periods of time.
Candidates with good attendance, self-control, and strong work ethic will be most suitable for this position.
