The company has a vacancy for a YES Programme Candidate (part-time) to be based at Curro Uitzicht in Sonstraal Heights, whose work will start in March 2026. Role Overview
There is an opening for an Intern at Curro Uitzicht, under the YES Programme. While specific key performance areas will be determined by the school’s operational requirements, interns will most likely perform functions that provide general support to daily school activities. This could be in helping teachers, providing administrative support, supervising learners, or supporting some of the extra-mural and academic support activities, aligned to the school’s needs, and the interests and qualifications of the intern.
The role is intended to provide exposure to interns to a professional school setting and to promote collaboration and the development of a strong work culture. Interns are required to be committed, reliable, and enthusiastic, to demonstrate a desire to learn, and to embody the ethos and standards of Curro.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Applicants need to meet certain qualifying criteria as per YES Programme guidelines. All candidates need to be South African citizens, aged between 18 to 34 years, and must have been unemployed before. A matric certificate is a baseline requirement. Applicants with a qualification in Education will be at a considerable advantage, especially if they intend to work in a classroom or with learners.
It will be easier to attend work and be on time if you live or stay near Curro Uitzicht in Sonstraal Heights during the 12 months of your contract. Successful candidates must be enthusiastic, have excellent communication, and must be able to demonstrate the ability to step up and take on additional responsibilities in a workplace environment. Although there is no prior work experience required, a high level of commitment and professionalism is required.
Stipend and Contract Details
Participants will receive a monthly stipend of between R4 992,00 and R6 000,00, with the amount dependent on their placement and the criteria they meet. Participants need to remember that this is a stipend, and not a salary. The purpose of this program is to provide participants with work experience. The contract will be for 12 months, which will be enough time for the participants to gain a considerable amount of experience and to develop their skills.
