Hungry Lion is one of the most well-known fast-food businesses in Southern Africa, and we continue to focus on the investment of youth through the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme. For 2026, we opened a possibility for YES learnerships in collaboration with Digicloud Africa, especially for youth in South Africa who are unemployed and keen to acquire relevant work experience. We are committed to this learnership as an investment in skills development, economic empowerment, and creating a sustainable future workforce.
The learnership is set to begin in February 2026 and will run for 12 months. All successful applicants will be stationed at the Hungry Lion head office in Stellenbosch, with a few positions located at the company’s Kraaifontein warehouse. The aim of this learnership is to promote the development of a professional workplace culture through the provision of relevant skills.
### About the YES Learnership Programme
The Youth Employment Services (YES) program aims to reduce unemployment among the youth in South Africa to create an opportunity for young people to gain work experience and learn on the job. In this case, Hungry Lion is creating an opportunity to help young people gain workplace experience for the first time. Hungry Lion’s 2026 YES Learnership is designed for people who want to learn to grow their professional and corporate work experience with young people in corporate South Africa.
### Responsibilities and Learning Exposure
Successful candidates for the Hungry Lion YES Learnership will perform various roles and responsibilities within an office environment. Office roles and responsibilities differ based on the needs of the different divisions and functions within the Organization. Office activities include, but are not limited to, providing administrative assistance, data capturing, facilitating the smooth running of internal processes, and providing support to various work teams within the Organization. This will help learners appreciate the workings of a corporate head office and will also help them gain workplace skills.
Besides daily workplace obligations, learners will have to finish the assigned learning modules that will form part of the YES programme. These modules assist with the development of the learners’ technical and soft skills, thereby fostering their overall growth throughout the year. Success in the programme requires the commitment to both the work and learning parts.

Interested participants of the Hungry Lion YES Learnership 2026 need to fulfill the following criteria. Applicants should be in the age bracket of 18 and 35 and be citizens of South Africa.
