Programme Overview
The aim of the Production Learnership Programme is to provide practical experience in production as well as insight into the running of a large scale manufacturing operation. It is a full-time on-site opportunity for those who wish to learn how the production process works.
Participants will learn about the production process in a manufacturing setting, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, safety and how to operate as part of a team in a team focused production environment.
Learners will receive a stipend for the month in the region of R5,000. They will be able to use it to subsidize their minimal living and transport costs. This allows potentially motivated individuals who have little or no experience to learn, and for those who have the will to do it, to apply.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:
A Grade 12 (Matric) or N3 Certificate
Mathematics (Pure Maths) and/or Physical Science
Good command of the English Language (Written and Communication).
Able to work in a team
Good attention to detail and able to manage your time well
The requirements are designed to ensure learners possess the prerequisite skills, academic and personal, to be able to thrive in the environment of a structured production class.
What Participants Will Do
Participants will collaborate with mentors on the production floor and will learn the realities and solutions of production work. Participants will also work on production line activities, equipment monitoring, safety compliance, quality control, and the Quality Circle. Participants will be required to perform activities on the production floor and, as a result, will acquire work ethic and professionalism as well as the technical skills required.
