Khusela Skills Institute is taking proactive safety measures with its Security Officer Learnership. The program is a potential game-changer for many who wish to start a career in the security profession, as it transforms participants into competent security officers.
Khusela Skills Institute is much more than a mere training provider. With Khusela’s focus on community empowerment as well as inclusivity, it was created to help solve the problem of unemployment and inequality through well-organized accredited skills development programs. The Security Officer Learnership is the centerpiece offering of the institute as it integrates social impact with national standards.
A Pathway to Professional Security Careers
The Security Officer Learnership is a comprehensive full-time program that focuses on the theoretical and practical training of a learner in the private security field. Every learner goes through a systematic training sequence that encompasses essential components such as access control, patrolling, public relations, emergency management, basic law enforcement, and professional behavior. The program is registered with the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) to ensure compliance with the training standards of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
Learning with a focus on work placement is the most important aspect of this program. Unlike most training programs that focus solely on the classroom, Khusela places every learner into actual workplaces, which enables them to practice what they have learned in a controlled setting. This practical experience helps to prepare participants for actual security jobs, which start with guarding and surveillance, and extend to servicing clients and managing conflicts.

Perhaps the most impressive feature of an institution’s approach is the open-door policy. The Security Officer Learnership is available to those without a matric certificate, which is a major roadblock in most formal training settings. The institute accepts a willingness to learn as more valuable than academic achievements. This approach has given hope to numerous South Africans who, in the past, faced barriers due to a lack of recognized qualifications.
Khusela’s approach to professional training includes the development of hard and soft skills. Job-Related Skills, Community, and Personal Skills, as well as Life Skills, play an essential role in the learners’ comprehensive development. The aforementioned skills not only allow for an efficient workplace performance but help make the learners responsible community members.
HOW TO APPLY

Enhancing the social outcomes of the community is a major focus of the program. Owing to the quality of training and the relationships it has established with the relevant industries, Khusela proudly cites an employment placement rate of over 95%. Retail, corporate, and even government institutions employ a large number of the graduates.
The Security Officer Learnership offered by Khusela Skills Institute is not only a qualification but also a new life opportunity. This program prepares learners for the job market and enhances their soft skills. Khusela is still able to accomplish its goal of safeguarding the community by equipping its defenders.
